Its been about a month since we started “S” on her medication for ADHD. For the first few days it was a constant battle between “this is working” and “is it doing anything”. We could see that it was doing something, but then we would have episodes. This happened for about the first week or so. Things have seemed to settle down a bit.
So we are having more good days then bad now, but let me say when she has a bad day its BAD! We can’t figure out what triggers a bad day, it just seems to happen out of no where. They typically happen at school so we don’t know if maybe running around at recess has something to do with it, or if its something she eats.
The come down is getting better, still pretty emotional for the most part, but not as bad. We have noticed that if we don’t do her homework with her as soon as she walks in the door its not going to get done because by the time dinner happens her head is already somewhere else.
I don’t really know what else to say other then at this moment we are glad we tried medication, because its nice to see her happy!
